The thing all these films have in common is they are all obviously all horror but they are also slasher films which according to the dictionary means "a horror movie, especially one in which victims (typically women or teenagers) are slashed with knives and razors". Other slasher films are Freddy Vs Jason, the Scream franchise, the final girls, hatchet, psycho and many more.
